My New Crackberry

So here is the skinny. Just arrived at my 12 months with O2 on my Blackberry 8700. It has given 12 months of pleasure using it. The device just works. Not only does it work, it does not crash. Not only does it not crash but it lasts approx 5 days if not longer!! So what do I do. Go get another.
Yep that's right. After reading rumours, release dates of other models and seeing a colleague's 8800 I decide to plum for the Blackberry 8800.
I talk to:-
Carphone Warehouse (My fave mobile retailer) - Well we will be doing that model soon but our shops are not trained yet.
O2 Shop - Sorry mate, can do you Pearl but not the 8800 you will have to call O2 to get that.
Orange - Great help upfront and honest. Had the model in stock and were keen for me to sign up.
T-Mobile - I could not find a contact number on their website to call them.

So I call Orange and see what they can offer, based on what the colleague did after I advised him to call Orange asking for his PAC number (they offered a lot to him to stay). Lady was helpful and I was on the verge of going for it.

Called O2 just to give em a chance. Asked to have my PAC number get transferred to the retentions dept and get asked why I want to leave. Tell the guy that I had seen a great offer on Orange and hey presto he betters the deal.
So I get my 8800 - Unlimited Data/email (cough is that BS or what 75meg fair usage) and a relatively small voice plan. All very easy.

So 8800 awesome. Lovely slimline device, glossy. I set up my emails very quickly. The sync app on my laptop had an easy 2 use transfer wizard to transfer my info from the 8700 to 8800. The web front end that does all the pushing of emails to your Blackberry had been upgraded so that it would reconcile my GMail & Yahoo & even my work email. Brilliant. I can even look at my Flickr account.

Blackberry Love it.
